Comment: Further to my last review on the site I have been informed by Pembrokeshire County Council that due to a colleague campers correspondance this camp site has been given a written warning due to the skip that was set on fire. Also, despite numerous requests, we still have not been given our refund.

Subject: Unsafe site!!
Comment: Where to start... The showers and loo's were regularly cleaned, but over the 7 days that we were at the site the poor quality toilet fittings were breaking and not being repaired. One loo, in the ladies, was out of order for the entire time, there were no paper towels to dry your hands just a very grubby looking towel. Several toilet seats became unattached. The showers were in our opinion dangerous. Either scalding hot or freezing cold. Hair washing was a nighmare as you needed 1 hand to keep the hot water button pushed in all of the time. The 1 washing machine was old, but it did work, as did the tumble dryer which made a very loud squeeling noise when it was first switched on. It was raining when we arrived and the site was very muddy. A few tents had to move as a "lake" appeared at the bottom of the two fields where the electrical hook ups were. The people running the site are obviously cutting corners as all of the rubbish was loaded into a huge skip (This included empty gas cannisters, cans, bottles, and waste from the ladies toilet bins) On our 4th evening there they decided to set fire to the skip . Having placed some wood from bushes they had cut down earlier in the day the guy set fire to it, and was suprised when we complained as our tents were directly downwind. We had a year old baby, asthmatic child and pregnant lady in our group and the fumes were noixious. So we abandoned plans for a BBQ and went in search of somewhere to eat. He had told the fire brigade that it was a controlled burning of wood, and I think he saw us taking pictures as early the next day he had the skip collected, emptied and returned again - to a different place on the site! On returning later that evening we planned to move to bed and breakfast for the night, but by then the fire was out and the more vunerable members of the group were offered accomodation in the managers RV. He also offered to refund 2 nights fees, but when we left (a day earlier than planned as by then the site was becoming crowded) on the Friday there was no one at the office or house to refund our money. It took 10 loads of washing when we got home as everything smelled smoky! We have written to the site asking for our refund, but are yet to hear back. What else. They were using a chainsaw to cut down the bushes by the toilet block, with no barriers to prevent injury to campers, and also painting the fences with creosote, and walls with paint. There weren't even warning signs to inform people that the fence and wall were wet. There were no fire bells, beaters or extiguishers to be seen around the site. It was a very dispointing camping holiday for us. The area was beautiful. Surfing good, beaches clean but the site really was awful. Just dont go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!
