Subject: Bude Holiday Park
Comment: Myself, my wife and three children spent a week at Bude Holiday Park during August 2006. The campsite itself while pleasant enough is in need of updating. The shower/toilet facilities were not the cleanest, the Polish cleaners did not clean to a high standard. The laundry area was ok once you asked the teenagers hanging around there to find somewhere else to play while you done your washing. The Bar/ Entertainment area was good, the entertainment supplied by the team at Bude was very good. The kids entertainment especially good. A nice clean pool used daily and supervised by very observant lifeguards, they take no messing from the bigger kids. The children's play area tends to get overcrowded and for some parents the kids are out of sight out of mind. Luckily we were pitched close to the play area and were able to supervise our children's play. Whilst most kids seem to get along and play easily together there's always one or two who try to spoil things. Bullies are the only way to describe them. My son had a pretty horrific encounter with one in particular and while the park staff were able to deal with the person there is no-one supervising. The shop on site was a little expensive, but you would expect to pay a little more. The area around the park was stunning, the cliff top walks are a must. The scenery is beautiful and is a must. The park is within walking distance to Bude town centre. A great big Somerfields is on hand for the shopping with an Internet cafe across the road for those who want to stay connected. If a little time and money was spent on a little updating Bude Holiday Park would be well worth the money for anyone, it's just missing a little something. It is a great base for anyone wanting to explore the Cornish coastline, stunning. Although it needs something it is worth a visit, if just for the scenery.
