Site DescriptionStay in the grounds of the fairytale castle at Culzean. The fantastic example of Robert Adams’ architecture stands dramatically on a cliff and our Club Site has amazing views across the sea to the Isle of Arran.

Culzean Castle

Culzean Castle and Country Park hosts many events during the year, including children’s activities, Scottish country dancing and several music festivals. Managed by the National Trust for Scotland, the Park covers nearly 600 acres of Ayreshire’s finest woodland and coastal walks. The Castle’s Visitor Centre is a ten-minute walk from Site. Culzean is at the heart of poet Robert Burns country, with Burns Cottage at Alloway nearby. Marvel at the car rolling up hill at the Electric Brae between Dunure and Croy Bay. Ayr Racecourse holds regular race meetings. Car boot sales and a market take place on the racecourse at the weekend. Souter Johnnie’s Cottage was home to John Davidson the village souter (shoemaker), immortalised in Robert Burns’ Tam O’Shanter. Some of the best golf courses in Scotland are close: Turnberry, Troon, Prestwick and Western Gailes. The Scottish Maritime Museum at Irvine includes the Shipyard Workers Tenement Flat and a collection of vessels at the pontoons. Fish at Mochrum Loch. The local butcher from Maybole visits the Site every Saturday.
