Site DescriptionIf you would like a holiday away from the crowds, come and listen to the owls by the camp fire and share our corner of the Pyrenees.

With a variety of accommodation options from our camping terraces, to a cosy log cabin... And new for 2011 are our self contained tree houses, built 7m up a chestnut tree!

We offer a fresh, home cooked dinner which you are welcome to join us for, or there are restaurant options in the nearest villages just over half an hours drive away where you can sample the finest Catalan cuisine. In the evenings you may even bring a bottle and join us for a drink next to the campfire if you like!

Our location is in the French Pyrenees and offers amazing views of the border mountains which are only a short walk away. We also offer walking tours to Spain - and will even come and pick you up after your hike!

Being in the south of France we enjoy over 300 days of sunshine every year, and in the summer you can bathe safely in our river or simply relax with a barbeque on the banks! If you would like to visit some of the local towns and get a real taste of Catalunya, we are only an hours drive from Figueres (home of the Salvador Dali museum) and the Mediterranean coast. A 2 1/2 hours drive will see you in the cultural metropolis of Barcelona with its fantastic architecture by Gaudi and excuberant nightlife. On the French side we are a little more than an hours drive from Perpignon with an airport and connecting rail services to the rest of France. There is also an airport at Girona which is 1 1/2 hours drive from La Solane.

We have our own source of water from a mountain spring and we have solar panels installed to make use of the sun.

We don't have a shop as such, but we do make sure there is plenty of fresh food (including organic bread and wine), fruit and vegetables for you eat and drink.

We speak Dutch, English, French and German (and a little Spanish).
