Site DescriptionClose to both the sandy beaches of the Exmoor Heritage Coast and the wilderness of the Exmoor National Park, our Club Site at Minehead has wonderful sea views – but unfortunately is not suitable for caravans to reach.

Minehead

Minehead town is a mile-and-a-half down the hill. It is Somerset’s largest seaside resort, with a good shopping centre, many places for eating out, a harbour and a long sandy beach. The West Somerset Steam Railway station is in the town. The line goes through 20 miles of stunning coastal and countryside scenery. The Exmoor Classic Car Collection is in Minehead. Its vehicles can often be seen on the roads. Porlock Weir is accessible along the coast path. It has a harbour beneath wooded cliffs. Culbone – the country’s smallest church – is here. Porlock village is famous for its steep hill. In the past, horses would pull cars up it. Butlin’s Somerwest World makes a good day out with children. Tropiquaria Animal and Adventure Park includes The Radio Museum and Shadowstring Puppet Theatre. Dunster is a pretty mediaeval town. The Castle dates back to 1086. South from Minehead is Wimbleball Lake with fine views and lovely walks across Haddon Valley. Anglers can catch rainbow trout. Motorhome owners should note the directions to Site on this page. Most satellite navigation systems direct their users along unsuitable routes.
