Site DescriptionOn the shore of a half-moon bay on the Moray Firth, our Club Site at Rosemarkie has the hills and woodland behind. A short walk away is the lighthouse – the perfect place to watch the dolphins in the Firth.

Rosemarkie

The village of Rosemarkie is famous for its Pictish stones. These are housed in the Groam House Museum on the High Street. The museum tells of the early inhabitants of Northern Scotland. Rosemarkie also has shops and several pubs serving food. Fortrose Cathedral ruins are south of the Site. Take a boat from Avoch Harbour or Cromarty to see the dolphins. The Dolphin Listening Centre at North Kessock reveals the undersea world of dolphins and seals in the Moray Firth. Munlochy Bay is a haven for wading birds, ducks and migratory birds. Feed the ducks, geese and swans at the Black Isle Wildlife and Country Park and see the rare breeds. Inverness is a bus ride away. It has shops, galleries, a Cathedral and the Victorian Market. Cruise Loch Ness and see the Monster Exhibition. The ruins of Castle Urquart overlook the Loch. Rosemarkie golf course is next door to the Club Site. Walk along the beach to the lighthouse at Chanonry Point. There are great views from here across the Moray Firth – home to seals and a family of bottle-nosed dolphins.

Comment: rosemarkie is the best place to visit, the place is lovely, the walking is just the best, and the pubs, chippie and people are lovely, the beaches are great, and so are the dolphins we watched them every day and my lovely black labrador swam with the dolphins at chancery point, the best kept secret in scotland is rosemarkie.
