Site DescriptionSolway View - Camping and Caravanning Club CS - is located with stunning views over the estuary of the River Dee and into the Solway Firth. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the coastal farmland that surrounds you and feel free to explore with our Farm Trail. We have widely spaced pitches and are open all year round. There are electric hook-up and hard standing pitches. Also a picnic bench and brick BBQ/Campfire area at each pitch. Caravans, Motor homes and Tents are all very welcome.

We also have 3 Large Wigwams available to hire - Comfort Camping All Year Round. The Wigwams are comfortable, spacious and warm, they look like wooden tents. Equipped with foam mattresses, heating and lights. Internally, each has a fridge, kettle, toaster and a microwave/gill provided. Externally, each has a picnic bench, brick BBQ and parking area.

We have very modern WC/Shower facilities. Also, there is a cooking hut and dishwash area. New outdoor playarea at Solway View CS - Easter 2010.

Solway View is an ideal base & is centrally located to discover and enjoy the countryside and local villages and towns. The Artist town of Kirkcudbright is always worth a visit. Also Castle Douglas & Gatehouse-of-fleet.

Nearby is Cream O’ Galloway, an organic farm. Outside adventure play area and an inside playbarn, catering for children of all ages. They have a fabulous selection of ice cream and a tea-room with selection of meals.

So much to see & do in this beautiful part of Scotland: Beaches, Water Sports, Bird Watching, Hill walking, Climbing, Gardens, Golf, fishing, Mountain Biking(7 stanes) and Road Cycle routes and much much more.

Comment: Just back from a stay at Solway View & we didn't want to come home! The site is really well laid out & kept very nicely Neil is a great host (there when you need him & not when you don't!). We will definately return, we can't wait!!!!

Comment: Excellent campsite, shame we only had a couple of days. Owners very freindly. Facilitys lovely and clean. A very relaxing two days great for cycling.Will definatley be back.

Comment: Excellent site very clean and fantastic views. Hot free showers anytime of the day, great cook house which was an extra bonus. Large pitch site and very well kept grounds. The hosts Neil and Patricia were very helpful and the information pack we received on arrival was great. Fab walks around the farm with a lovely beach very close by.....EXCELLENT ALL ROUND! 5 STAR PLUS!
