Subject: Unfriendly and basic
Comment: Very basic camping facilities - one toilet and shower in the same room, dirty throughout our stay with no way of cleaning them. Hot water present, but in very limited quantities. Unfriendly notices inform you that campers and not permitted to use toilets etc in the adjacent pub that runs the site. The camp site itself has no natural shelter and there is a busy road alongside it - we spent a rather miserable weekend there. Despite claims of a 'warm welcome' before arrival, our group was made to feel distinctly unwelcome by the lady who runs the site. The pub offers food but its of very poor quality and very overpriced; the chef boasted in our hearing that hygiene was not something he was concerned about. One of our party was very ill after eating there. Not somewhere I would recommend.
