Site DescriptionThe Orchards Holiday Park on the Isle of Wight is an excellent, well managed park, set in a peaceful village location, with glorious views of the Downs and the Solent shores.A 15 acre site with 175 touting pitches and 65 holiday caravans. The Orchards has been awarded 5 stars from the English Tourism Council, gold awards from David Bellamy and Green Island and is a member of The Best of British. Facilities include indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, poolside cafe, shop, takeaway, self service launderette, play areas, table tennis, pool tables and dog walking area. Ther is a special caravan for wheelchair users and others with special needs and a celebration caravan for those celebrating a special occasion.
This is a good location for outdoor enthusiasts as there are walking and cycling trails from the park and bird watching at the Yar estuary and Newtown Creek.
There are many attractions within easy reach of the Orchards, including the harbour town of Yarmouth, Fort Victoria, Carisbrooke Castle and the summer residence of Queen Victoria, Osbourne House.
All pitches have hook up electricity and some have hook up water and mains drains. A complete site and ferry package is offered in conjunction with Red Funnel and Wightlink Ferries.

Subject: Orchards
Comment: Stayed 5 nights in a tent with a 16mnth old child. Amazing facilities with brand new shower and toilet block which are imaculate, even sink to bath baby in. Good well priced shop, lovely swimming pool. Well maintained site, best we have ever stayed on, highly recommended.

Subject: The orchards
Comment: We stayed there with our family August 2007. So things may be different. We had one tent pitch and one caravan pitch. They were very organised and friendly and helpful. I didn't like that they charged for the indoor pool, and the outdoor pool although advertised as heated is mostly heated through solar power (the sun shines on the pool and heats it up). Also, it was very very busy and a little crowded. Saying that, the toilets/showers were clean. Shop well stocked. All staff helpful.
